To expedite the entry process for travelers to Canada, the Canadian government offers an online customs and entry declaration. You can submit your details using Advance Declaration in the ArriveCAN app before flying to any of Canada's participating airports.

The entry to Canada by air requires the existence of a visa. BUSINESS VISUM may apply for an eTA for citizens of countries admitted to the eTA programme for business, tourist and transit travel purposes.

The eTA confirmation must be provided upon entry and must be presented to the border officials together with the passport used for the application.

The eTA is valid for 5 years from the day of issue for multiple entry. The maximum number of days allowed per stay is 180. Visa validity is linked to the passport used for the application. If this is valid for less than 5 years, the eTA expires at the end of its validity.

eTA eligible nationalities:

Andorra, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Brunei Darussalam,, Bulgaria, Chile, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Great Britain, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea (Republic of), Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Papua New Guinea, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Samoa, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Solomon Islands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan.

Nationals from Brazil, Romania and Bulgaria are eligible for ETA if they have a valid U.S. nonimmigrant visa or have obtained a Canada visitor visa within the last 10 years.

You want to ensure that your photo meets the requirements of the embassy and that your visa is approved without delay due to different quality or format requirements?

We ask you to consider:  The photo must meet the official biometric requirements for the purpose of applying for a visa.

You can recognize a biometric photo by the following criteria:

  • The background is monochrome (white/light grey) and shows no objects or patterns.
  • The head position is aligned to the camera (automated biometric identification of the face and iris of the eye would be possible).
  • The facial expression of the person portrayed is neutral to serious (if you smile, your mouth must be closed!).
  • The view is directed directly forward into the camera (neither to the side nor up or down!).

Travel health insurance of Hanse Merkur

The Embassy of the Russian Federation and some other Eastern European countries, and in exceptional cases China, require proof of travel health insurance when applying for a visa.

The procedure is as follows:

    • One recent passport photo (3.5 x 4.5 cm (min. 600 x 750 pixels)) no older than three months.
      The photo must not match the passport photo, must not show a smile, must have visible shoulders, must have a white background and must not wear glasses.

  2. Your documents will be checked immediately. In case of discrepancies or missing information you will receive feedback from our eService Team.
     
  3. As soon as the eTA is available, you will receive it as a PDF file.

Important to know:

You can adjust our processing time according to your individual needs! Simply make your selection: Relax (6 working days or more), Express (2 to 5 working days) or Today (within 24 hours (only on working days)). 

Plus the processing time of the authorities from 1 working day.
