What is ELEFAND?
In order to be able to provide consular assistance in the event of a crisis or disaster, the Federal Foreign Office offers German citizens the opportunity to register online in the “ELEFAND” crisis preparedness list. ELEFAND stands for “Electronic Registration of Germans Abroad”. By registering your stay abroad in ELEFAND, you create the fundamental prerequisite for being actively contacted on site in the event of a crisis and being involved in any necessary crisis management measures.
Your advantages:
- No matter where. More security on your trip abroad
- The Federal Foreign Office will contact you (and family members traveling with you) in the event of a crisis and actively offer assistance
- Optimized information flow e.g. in the case of acute travel warnings
- One-time register of personal data
