E-Visa
The e-visa is required for conferences as well as for tourist and business purposes. This also includes technical assignments (e.g., commissioning, repairs).
- Important: For technical assignments, please select “Expert in connection with an ongoing project” as the purpose of travel in the application data for a business visa in Easy Access.

Arrival Card
Since October 1, 2025, an arrival card must also be completed in addition to the e-visa. Registration can be completed no earlier than 3 days prior to arrival.

The procedure is as follows:
Enter an order via our EASY ACCESS portal under this link and upload the following documents:
- Passport (data page)
- Traveler's business card (for a business visa)
- last India visa (if applicable)
- current biometric photo in the dimensions 5x5 cm
- invitation letter (for a business or conference visa)
- flight confirmation
Additional documents for applying for an e-Conference visa are:- Invitation letter from the organizers of the conference
- Approval from the relevant Indian authorities (Political Clearance from MEA *)
- Optional (not obligatory): Event clearance from MHA
- Your documents will be checked immediately. In case of discrepancies or missing information you will receive feedback from our eService Team.
- As soon as the e-visa is available, you will receive it as a PDF file by e-mail or as download on our portal.
Important to know:
You can adjust our processing time according to your individual needs! Simply make your selection: Relax (6 working days or more), Express (2 to 5 working days) or Today (within 24 hours (only on working days)).

We ask you to consider: The photo must be up-to-date with the indian visa application requirements (reasonably consistent with the passport image) and comply with official biometric requirements.
You can recognize a biometric photo by the following criteria:
- The background is monochrome (white/light grey) and shows no objects or patterns.
- The head position is aligned to the camera (automated biometric identification of the face and iris of the eye would be possible).
- The facial expression of the person portrayed is neutral to serious (if you smile, your mouth must be closed!).
- The view is directed directly forward into the camera (neither to the side nor up or down!).
- The dimensions for a photo for the Indian visa application is - different from the classic passport photo formats - 5 x 5cm

Indian embassies and consulates only accept online visa applications. The process of the electronic application required for this is handled via a website of the Indian government.

- 1 recent photograph in colour (size 5 x 5 cm white background) has to be uploaded online.
- Copy of the last Indian visa (if applicable)
- Copy of visa/entry stamps if you have travelled to Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka or Afghanistan within the last 3 years.
- Your documents will be checked immediately. In case of discrepancies or missing information you will receive feedback from our eService team.
- As soon as your application has been generated, you will receive it as a PDF file by e-mail or as download for signature*.
* Attention: The visa application must be submitted to the embassy within 20 days after preparation, as the online application data will be deleted by the authorities at the end of this period!

The technical term "legalization" describes a certification. This is a formal procedure by the diplomatic or consular representation of a State. It serves as proof that a foreign authentic instrument is authentic and confirms
- the authenticity of the signature
- the capacity in which the signatory has acted
- and, if necessary, the authenticity of the seal/stamp.
In this way, a foreign authentic instrument is treated as a domestic authentic instrument and thus is recognized.
This applies in both directions - for example, a German document is recognized by legalization in the country in which it is to be used or, conversely, a Chinese document could be legalized by the German embassy in Beijing.
We would be pleased to take over all work steps necessary for the legalization of a document for you, depending on the type of document and location in Germany, including the pre-certification by other institutions, e.g. notary, Chamber of Commerce, Regional Court, BVA (if required).
Common documents to be legalized are certificates of origin, commercial invoices, contracts, powers of attorney, export documents and in the personal area adoption documents, marriage and birth certificates, diplomas or medical documents.
Please refer to the respective legalization regulations of the destination country.

In cooperation with consulates and embassies, documents may have to be submitted to the national representations in the respective official language of the target country. These can be documents in connection with the application for a special visa (certified invitations, marriage certificates, extracts from the commercial register, etc.) or documents submitted for legalisation (powers of attorney, certificates of origin, commercial invoices, etc.).
Not everyone has a translator at hand right away. Depending on the document and the specifications of the target country, the latter must be approved as a sworn translator. Particularly in the area of documents to be certified, professional work is essential, since inaccuracies are not recognised by the authorities.
